フィリピン　イギリス変異体警戒

最近、イギリスでのコロナウイルスの変異体の話題が止まらないですよね。
・イギリスで発見された感染率７割増の変異体
・南アフリカから流入したととの見解のイギリス変異体よりより感染力の強い変異体

イギリスは今、変異体の保菌者こそは少ないもののその対応に追われています。
今日から日本もイギリスからの入国を停止し、すでに対応を行っています。

フィリピンではまだ、イギリスで発見された変異体は検出されていないと発表しました。
また、予防措置として年内のフライトの停止を命じています。

コロナですら終息の目途が立っていないのにすでにコロナよりも更なる脅威を有する変異体が続出し、予断を許さない状況です。

New COVID-19 strain not yet in PH — DOST

The new strain of COVID-19 detected in the United Kingdom has not yet reached the Philippines, an official of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) said on Thursday.

“Sa ngayon, base sa ating nalalaman wala pa tayong reports na nandito na po yung variant na sinasabi ngayon sa UK na naidentify sa Southeastern part ng England [Currently, we do not have reports yet that the new variant is already here —which was first identified in the Southeastern  part of England],” said Dr. Jaime Montoya, executive director of the DOST– Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD)  during the Laging Handa public briefing on Thursday.

Montoya assured that local experts are continuously monitoring this new development on COVID-19.

“Sa ngayon, tayo ay minomonitor natin randomly ang mga viruses na nakikita natin sa Pilipinas through the Philippine Genome Center, [Right now, we are randomly monitoring the viruses we see in the Philippines through the Philippine Genome Center]” he said.

Montoya said that based on studies, the new COVID-19 variant is more transmissible.

“Base sa nirelease na resulta sa UK, mukhang wala po itong epekto sa sakit mismo, kunyari mas maraming komplikasyon o mas nakamamatay, mukhang wala pong effect doon although mas nakakahawa sya [Based on the released results in the UK, it looks like it has no effect on the disease itself, like it will cause more complications or it is deadlier, although it is more transmissible],” he said.

The Philippine government has ordered the temporary suspension of flights from the United Kingdom until December 31, Thursday, as a precautionary measure to stop the entry of the new COVID-19 strain in the country.
