暑さ指数38℃ 　屋内待機勧める

気象局は、暑さ指数が38度まで上昇する可能性があることから、国民に水分補給と屋内待機を勧めました。マニラ首都圏の日曜日の最高気温は34.8℃でしたが、暑さ指数は36〜38℃になる可能性があるそうです。

フィリピンの国家気象機関は、暑さ指数を人間の不快指数と定義しています。簡単に言うと人が体感する温度のことです。

気象局は、外出の際は時々避難場所を探して水分補給をするように呼びかけています。

またマニラ首都圏やその他の地域では、強風や局地的な雷雨に見舞われる可能性もあるようです。

屋内待機の指示や悪天候は、暑さ対策のみならず人々に「ステイホーム」を促す効果も期待できます。

PAGASA to public: Stay indoors, as heat index could reach 38 Celsius

MANILA (UPDATE)—The public is advised to stay hydrated and remain indoors as much as possible, as the heat index could soar to 38 degrees Celsius, the state weather bureau said Monday.

Metro Manila on Sunday tallied a maximum temperature of 34.8 degrees Celsius but the public could experience between 36 to 38 degrees Celsius heat index, said PAGASA weather forecaster Chris Perez.

PAGASA defines heat index as human discomfort index that gives the “apparent” temperature, or what humans perceive or feel as the temperature affecting their body.

“Ang posibleng maranasan ng mga kababayan natin ay ‘di lang 34, possibleng maglaro sa 36, 37, hanggang 38 degrees Celsius ang actual na mararamadaman natin,” Perez told ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo.

(The public might experience not only 34 but 36 to 38 degrees Celsius.)

PAGASA, in an advisory released Sunday, forecast a heat index of 33.9 to 39.1 heat index in Metro Manila on Monday.

The highest heat index forecast is 33.5 to 41.8 in Sangley Point, Cavite, according to the state weather bureau.

“As much as possible stay indoors kung wala pong mahalagang gagawin sa labas ng bahay (if you don’t have anything important to do outdoors),” Perez said.

“Kung kailangan pong lumabas ng bahay, from time to time sumilong po at ugaliing uminom ng tubig to keep themselves hydrated.”

(If you need to go outside, make sure to seek shelter from time to time and drink water to keep themselves hydrated.)

The public will feel the highest temperature between noon to 3 p.m., Monday, according to Perez.

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Mimaropa, Visayas, and Mindanao, and MIMAROPA, Perez said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience cloudy skies with isolated rains due to easterlies or localized thunderstorms, he added.
